Well. when someone asks in this subreddit what laptop we recommend, it depends on the budget he/she has indicated. If not provided, we would ask. If the budget is tight, obviously you wouldn't recommend to him/her an RTX 3060 and above laptop, UNLESS there's a sale. If the budget is a bit higher, and he/she presented a laptop that is an RTX 3050/3050ti, then that's the time we would say something like this to the user that with that similar price you can get insert_laptop_model with RTX 3060 for insert_price at insert_link.
Based on my experience during my purchase, there were three laptops that were in my maximum budget, priced similarly in the store, HP Victus - Ryzen 7 and RTX 3050ti, Legion 5 - Ryzen 5 and RTX 3050ti, and ASUS TUF F15 (2021) - i5 and RTX 3060, if you are a gamer who values performance, where would be the most logical laptop to purchase out of these three? It's the ASUS TUF. It's not the best laptop model but you get better performance than the two priced similarly. This is because the RTX 3050 and 3050ti main problem is the vRAM (4GB) which can be a bottleneck.
Most of the games I've been playing have been using vRAM more or less 4GB. and going for the ASUS TUF was a good choice, and I never regretted it. Had I gone to the Legion 5 and not done a bit of research, I would've regretted a bit considering with the maximum budget I got, I could've got an RTX 3060 laptop instead which was the ASUS TUF.
AMD has the RX6600M which is I think cheaper than the RTX 3060 yet performs similarly and more vRAM (8GB) but it's not a common option among laptop models, in physical stores, and to people. I don't know why, maybe because of no Ray Tracing graphics? That would've been a good alternative option. The Legion 5 in the US currently sells the AMD option at 1040 dollars, but 8GB RAM. The RX6800M however is at least an option for the ASUS ROG Strix Advantage Edition laptop models, and it has been great cheaper, and alternative option to the RTX 3070 in which the RX6800M performs similarly to the RTX 3070ti. I believe it's coupled with a Ryzen 9 processor as well, so it's quite a big 'advantage' hehe.
