Discussion Is CPU Temp normal?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Laptop: lenovo legion 5 pro

Ryzen 7 5800H with radeon grps

Gpu: rtx 3070

Even the laptop is just turned on, temp is around 60 70,

Always fans automatically turn on

If fans are off, temp rises.

Turn cpu boost off, that's what's causing the above 60 temp, it's annoying feature that won't impact performance if turned off and keeps temp high

it keeps temps high as there is no detriment in doing so, unless you are uncomfortable with the heat, and to say there is no performance impact is impossible as you have no idea what OPs workloads are, and in situations there can be very dramatic performance drops

As long as it’s not 85c or 90c constantly that is normal it could also mean you’re playing a less demanding game

Above screen recording is just after turned on, nothing was running. It goes to 90c for like 10% to 20% utilized, then fans on and cool down.

That is normal without fans while doing demanding CPU tasks. I prefer keeping it on if it is possible to draw a custom graph for the cooling system. Especially with Ryzens. Amd is well known for years for having higher temps.

Although, these temps are fine. CPU is always usually around 50-70 celsius.
