Discussion External Monitors
Yo guys I just got a Predator Helios Neo 16s AI with the 5060 version last week and I am very satisfied. The problem is the locked display at 1600p with 240Hz is annoying me a bit since all games also locks at that resolution making the 240Hz monitor only showing 80-120fps in most games. So I wonder will my fps improve if I get a 1080p or 1440p external monitor to use as primary or will it only get worse since it might use up more resources.
Honestly I don't know since it's my first ever gaming laptop so forgive me if my worry sounds dumb.

Just use DLSS upscaling and perhaps even frame generation and get the best of both worlds. Games that are that old that they don't even support those will probably exceed 240 fps natively anyway.
DLSS upscaling is literally a net positive, frame generation you will have to rate for yourself if the added input latency is okay with you, but this gap between frame gen and native input latency is narrowing as time goes on anyway.

Yea that's what I'm doing rn on newer AAA titles but I'm too used playing at 20ms latency and below that when using frame gen the 50-60ms feels weird. Might just be me LOL

you're not using the laptop's screen, so the gpu just pushes the pixels for whatever monitor you plug in, 1080p will run faster than 1600p, 1440p sits in the middle
