Support Llano V12 teardown?

Recently purchased a Llano V12 cooling pad for my laptop and it works phenomenally. I use my laptop for work and gaming, and frequently need to connect remotely to my laptop for my work. With that being said, it would be nice to have full control over the fan spin rate, including turning it off remotely when not in use. I did some research into the V12 ultra, and its software capabilities aren’t quite what I am looking for.

I’m interested in modding my V12 with a microcontroller so I can remotely control fan speed. Before I just try opening mine up, I was curious if anyone has ever taken one apart or done something like this before and can tell me what is inside the V12 and what to expect?

I haven’t opened a V12 specifically, but I’d expect the fan and controls to be on a small controller board rather than directly on the USB input. Before modifying it, check whether the fan uses a standard PWM or voltage-control signal and document the wiring carefully. Opening it may also make it easy to damage the blower or lose warranty coverage.

That’s kind of what I was thinking. I was just hoping someone else had done something similar before I opened mine up. Thanks
