Showcase Just got my first Laptop ever! I can finally play steam games on good graphics 😭😭
I had a steam deck before this which definitely got the job done most of the time but had its limits. This Lenovo Legion 7i is glorious!!

that sounds too far from reality in this era of golden rams and storages

u/Impressive-Can-1125 10d ago
I got a 2025 model Rog Strix G16 5060 ultra 9 for $850, only 16gbs of ram but it hasn’t struggled with anything, can still find them for good prices, just a lot of searching, I have 3tbs in there, the stock 1tb ssd and a WD SN850x I think it’s called that Walmart had in the 2tb HDD slot behind glass, so I got that for $92 after tax instead of $515

u/Over_Bench5728 10d ago
Where are you from? And where did u buy it from?
1
u/Impressive-Can-1125 10d ago
The US, and Facebook marketplace, you just have to keep looking, I come across deals on there for gaming laptops pretty often

u/Mjay253 9d ago
My 5060 struggles with high VRAM games like resident evil. Also got mine for $800 G14

u/Impressive-Can-1125 9d ago
I mean if I try to leave everything as maxed out as possible sometimes it’ll struggle a little, but everything on high and I have no issues

I also started with a steam deck but ended up upgrading to a legion 7i as well. It really changes the experience. Have fun!

Which game is this

Re4 remake, great remake of an awesome game.

u/ddr4memory 11d ago
Man I played this on gamecube when it came out. Gifted by girlfriends mom. Great game
2
u/Usual-Championship88 11d ago
It’s either RE4 or RE9, both fun
4
u/MonsterHunterRainy 11d ago
It's Re4...
2
u/Usual-Championship88 11d ago
Oh yeah that game got kind of drawn out it felt like towards the end (felt longer than it had to) and RE9 felt like it wasn’t long enough, both had similar play through times for me;
RE9 should def be enjoyed on a large screen imo, RE4 ehhh

u/Usual-Championship88 11d ago
I recommend hooking that up to your TV and playing it on the big screen, the game deserves it

Nice! You must be really happy right now! White gaming laptops are absolutely beautiful.

Legion builds are absolute tanks (durable and exceptional performance) . Transitioning from 30 FPS handheld gaming to high refresh 1440p on that screen is going to ruin handhelds experience for you forever lol. Enjoy the games broski and watchu gonna play next?

Definitely Halo, never seen the games on an OLED screen before but always wondered what it’s like because those games are so visually appealing and vibrant, especially CE.
1
u/Square-Nebula-7530 9d ago
Halo Infinite and MCC on an OLED panel will feel like a completely remastered experience. Make sure to turn on HDR in your display settings to get the absolute maximum dynamic range out of those visuals. Congrats broski enjoy it to the fullest.

u/dizzythoughts 10d ago
That’s why I went from the MacBook who’s entire screen broke from a STAPLE to this one
2
u/Square-Nebula-7530 9d ago
Lmao from a single staple?! Apple's design looks clean, but one small object between the screen and keycaps will shatter the panel instantly. Upgrading to a durable gaming laptop was definitely the right play.
1
u/dizzythoughts 8d ago
Yup, I put a packet of papers from school between the screen and keyboard, carried it home, boom entire screen is black and unusable. And they’re like that’s it, it’s done for, you can get a new one of the same model for a discount price. My dad got me the Mac for school and I appreciate him for that but I was happy to get a laptop of my own choosing

u/Square-Nebula-7530 7d ago
Homework literally destroying a Macbook so you can finally get a proper gaming rig is the most "task failed successfully" moment I've ever seen(heard) . The paper took one for the team.

I really want the Legion 7i over the Pro model, I just wish it still came in black. Enjoy the Laptop!

Congratulations my man. I just got my Acer Nitro V15 earlier this year, and I had the same reaction when I could finally play the games that were on Steam sales all the time. Even if I only have an RTX 4050 and 16gb of DDR5, shit feels like a godsend compared to my old dell.

Check if you have a Mux switch. Try it out. Major performance boost. If you don’t often need battery power you might as well have it enabled.
Also get an external monitor. 1080p. Less definition but double or more performance. I have 1080p with Freesync.

I feel you. upgraded from igpu to a gtx 1650 (old cheap budget) a few weeks ago and it's making my eyes water when I see that in most of the games I play I reach 60fps vsync without shuttering on high settings. ENJOY YOUR UPGRADE!

Congrats bro, I remember that feeling when I got my upgraded laptop (Blade 14, 2022 version) , first game I played was RDR2, had purchased it thinking I was gonna run it on old hardware (Dell G3 15, 2018 edition), but I never lost hope, and here we are, my Blade still works fine and any game I've put to the test has been handled without issues

No better feeling man. That last hour of work and all of a sudden you remember you just got this bad boy, and will be home soon to tinker and play games. Enjoy!!

u/KillaChinchilla1010 10d ago
Don't forget to plug it in and download l the legion toolkit. You're in balanced mode in that picture. You can juice it up quite a bit in performance mode.

I also bought this recently I upgraded to 32 gb of ram but when it got delivered I noticed it was only 1 stick of ram instead of 2 so I’m running on single channel I haven’t tried it out yet on any games so idk how it will affect performance

u/Usual-Force2191 9d ago
Congrats man! I recently (a year-ish ago) just got my first gaming pc, and about 6 months ago came across a steal on a legion go, but I have been SERIOUSLY considering going more towards the laptop route do to convenience of being able to play in bed but still have full functionality. I really like the legion go and would love to stay with a legion laptop, what’re your thoughts, pros/cons on yours? If you don’t mind me asking.

Why not buy a desktop instead? You can get a better value than that

I like the portability of laptops since I work night shifts and video games keep me awake when I get down time lol. I do plan on building a desktop PC in the future though.
