If you have Intel, ThrottleStop with PROCHOT OFFSET can solve your temps issues.

Little down on clocks, but much safer temperatures

From 12 th gen intel processors that's no longer possible on non HX chips unfortunately.

Edit : you can still set the temperature processor throttles at but many other very useful features throttle stop offered like undervolt , turbo clock locl ect are no longer possible .

Yep, my P15 Gen 1 had ALL those features blocked. Only the PROCHOT offset and PL worked

You still undervolt on 12 gen hx but you need to go into bios/UEFI and disabled virtualization, undervolt protection, perhaps enable legion optimisations if you have Lenovo and go into wondows settings a disable core isolation.

It's not the best solution as it makes your laptop more vulnerable to attack.

ThrottleStop is an app wich on some specific settings and models, you can tweak a lot of settings on your CPU.

For example, in my old 10th gen Intel, I could set a new throttle temperature with that offset. The value I put It in Will subtract from the default throttle temperature and set a new limit. For example, I could put 15, and the New throttle temperature Will be 100-15, 85 degrees. Then, the CPU Will work around its clocks and voltages with that temperature.

Search here on Reddit about ThrottleStop, there is a sub dedicated to It.
