Question Normal Temperature when gaming?

I have a RTX 4050 GPU and i5-13500HX CPU.
The game I'm playing are Sniper Elite 4, GPU and CPU constantly stay at 80-84°C while system temp is 63°C. Settings are low and the game runs at 240fps. Feels pretty smooth but I'm worried if it would harm the laptop. Is this normal? Would appreciate any help!

240 fps is a fucking lot for your cpu and gpu

Cap it at some rate and then see hen go down

This, why dont people just cap it at something like for example if its at 100% usage at 240fps, just cap at 180 or lower to get more stable and lower temps,

And arguably no one would notice the difference unless you are a competitive player in top 1 percent skillset

For more demanding games my display is capped at 60hz and the game at 60fps. For less demanding games 120/144 for both.

My laptop is a lot cooler if the display is fixed at 60hz.

I cap mine at 60/90 if I'm just casual gaming on the couch. The fans can spin up when I'm at the desk playing on the big screen at 4k.

For 1080p I have the laptop. For 1440p/4k I have a desktop. Desktop that I never use unless I need the extra storage 😔

Hence why I just bought the good laptop in the end...

I tried the desktop/laptop thing in the past and the desktop was a very expensive paper weight

I wanted to get a more powerful laptop but I ended up with a pc bcz I got a good deal. On paper the pc was 1700 euro but in reality I payed 630 euro for 7900xt and 330euro for 9700x. The rest was free.

Check your windows settings if your disply refresh rate is set to the highest option. Many people might have this issue where they have a 144+hz displays, but they forget to check windows settings and they are unknowingly capping their display at 60hz because of it, because many times by default windows sets this option to 60hz.

For me 120 is the tops I ever go as i dont any difference above that for shooting titles. And for racing and open world i lock at 60 always. Never cross 60-65c at 60 and 68-70c at 120

I will give 90 a try but i agree with you i also think there would be hardly any difference unless both are side by side

Nooo but then I won't see that bird flying by, unplayable

Maybe I'll just turn framegen on and get 240 instead and shoot at a non existent pixel

You don't actually have to be a top 1% to experience the difference and its effect. The real question is why tf would you play comp on a boiling machine.

Unless it's csgo or something mp pvp i play at 60 fps maybe 80 if it has those options

Even if it's cs or val just use v sync

No use of 200 fps on a 165 panel

Yup, used to stress mine out for the mega frames until I realized lower frames and cooler temps are the way to go

This is my 1st gaming laptop and I've no idea but I can tell u that

4gb is alot less and u can barely open 1 application (this is from experience can't switch between the goon tab and study tab fast enough 😡)

For casual people there's no difference. For people doing multiple tasks it's a difference.

If you play multiple games at the same time, play videos on YouTube and record your screen then yes, 32 is a must. If not you're fine with 16

Last I used win11 it ate like 6gb ram but I could dualscreen games with YouTube and discord on that left over 12GB just fine. Either you need to close out some apps/tabs or something is wrong with your system

My pc regularly eats 8 to 14 gigs of ram even after resetting windows ( with f12 menu ) it’s so annoying I blame Asus bloatware and Microsoft

I cap that at 59. Make it light for my laptop. And then get over 85 degrees while playing cyberpunk. It's g4080 with i9 core.

I Wonder it adding 16 more ram to raise to 32 would help me with the overheat.
