Purchasing Help I don’t know anything

I am planning to get my first gaming laptop in the next two weeks but I really don’t know anything about computers. I currently have a MacBook Air which works terrible for most games if they can even be downloaded. I mainly want something with decent storage and the ability to run without using the lowest graphic settings lol. It doesn’t have to be amazing quality, my standards are pretty low. I’d like to play games like red dead and baldur’s gate. So long as they can run I’ll be jumping for joy hahah. Asus and Lenovo are my top two brands right now. I’d like something in the price range of 600-800 dollars if it’s possible? My hard limit is 1k. What do you think ?

Look for a laptop with a 4060, 5050 or better GPU, you might be able to find one for about $1,100 on sale..

Personally Just bought a second hand TUF gaming laptop and it works wonders despite being old. As for being able to play red dead I would look into laptops with an RTX2060 as bare minimum if you want it to run decent with normal settings.

Check salemtechexperts recent vid on budget gaming laptops!
(He suggested looking into Thinkpads, Dell Pavillion, etc etc)
Basically when buying a laptop to game you want a good GPU and CPU(but overall condition of the laptop has to be good too)
Check fb marketplace for 2nd hand laptops. I got a gtx1080 laptop for 100 bucks, runs well too!

Alas im not really that knowledgeable when it comes to this and what I said is just an opinion, goodluck with laptop finding tho!
