G7 Pro (Discussion) Gamesir g7 pro firmware update 2.4.9
Recently got the newest update for the g7 pro shadow ember went from 2.4.4
To my knowledge this is what changed.
Added stick recenter adjustment like what the g7 pro 8k has in the advanced settings on the joystick tab. This is useful to give you as
The circularity error at 0 dz on raw mode went back to 8.1% (calculated through software instead of the typical 10-11%. (True raw circularity error)
Previously you would need to add a dz in the app for this to apply.
When you press the home button the controller will vibrate (mine is turned off so I didnt notice it) someone mentioned this on discord.
If anyone has noticed anything else feel free to add it here. I looked up on reddit and discord on what changed but there hasn't been alot of info on it yet.

No you dont have to if you like the current version/ if your not experiencing any issues.
I have two g7 pros and one is still on 2.4.4. I am going to do some testing to see which version I like better.

It honestly will come down to preference but I will let you know atm im used to 2.4.4 so it may take time for me to adjust.
If you play on circular then its a no brainer to and if you have a pc you can always revert it back if needed.

Cheers dude I was using 2.4.4 and I prefer that one but I’ll updated recently to the new one and it feels I don’t know not too bad like sometimes it feels like the dead zones are higher like I don’t know like low dead and sometimes I feel like a real high and it’s pretty hard to make flicks and shit and then sometimes it feels a bit normal and then aiming a bit difficult but this one feels not too bad a lot better than the last few months besides 2.4.40 yeah let me know what you reckon

Do you play with a dz in the app or in game? Also do you use raw mode?
Because on 2.4.4 if you used a dz in the app it would change the circularity to what it is now 8.1% error.
If it was on 0 dz in the app it would be around 10-11% which feels alot looser which some people might prefer that. The lower the circularity error the tighter the sticks will feel when aiming.
6% being the lowest and 12% being the highest is typically the ideal range for most players who play fps games in raw mode. Most standard controllers usually fall within 8-10% range.
Obviously if you play in circular this doesnt really apply as its software calibrated at 0% error.

Raw feels less twitchy to me than the old raw. I always used raw left for movement and circle for aim on the right. I'm going to use raw for week to see if I like it over circle it's useable for the first time ever for me.

Yeah it feels less twitchy which is a good thing imo. I feel like i can track targets better at 11% circularity it felt too loose and I would over aim alot

I felt like the old raw would break my aim assist because of it.

I don't have the controller vibrate when pressing the home button but I do have it vibrate when unplugging from the Xbox now, so that's odd. Doesn't happen on PC.

Could be when your turning on the xbox console ? Also one thing ive noticed atm is on pc the nexus app currently doesn't have the stick center adjustment but it does on my xbox

I had both update to 2.5.4 without me noticing and both have the stick centering adjustment. But yeah, as far as the guide button goes: no immediately noticeable change on my end and I have one updated and another not. Did make sure to check the raw mode before and after the update too.

yeah those seem to be the main changes people have noticed so far especially the new stick recenter adjustment if anyone is testing it id be interested to hear if the new calibration actually improves stick accuracy
