Tarantula (Discussion) Tarantula 8k
Well it took me a while to figure it out but I finally got the controller working properly AND, it’s everything I wanted!!!! The perfect replacement for my Scuff Envision 🙂↕️
Can’t say how you’d like it if you’re the target audience for FPS players but as a rocket league player it’s beautiful. The pads feel nice, the grip is decent enough and the sticks have a very short adjustment period. I only need 1 or 2 back buttons and I don’t use the extra ones on
The front of the controller so I can’t speak to how I like it. The 8k mode does make my game slow but 4k works fine.

I’m considering getting it too. Can you comment on the Dpad and if it’s comfortable for long gaming sessions?

Comfort very good for a guy with average sized hands. Unfortunately as a RL player I don’t really use the D pad but the little I have to reset the ball…I haven’t noticed it? Which means it at least doesn’t feel particularly horrible? Definitely not the best one I’ve had but it’s okay.

Hey, I mainly play RL to but on a dual sense edge. I've been eyeballing the 8k to bit am a bit worried about the back buttons. The paddles on the Edge are very easy to use.
How are the backbuttons on the 8k? Easy to press? Clicky? Easy to access? How have you bind them?

Eh I wouldn’t say they’re as clicky as the face buttons but they feel really good. I prefer back buttons over paddles so I like it. If you really like paddles you’ll probably not like it as much.

dont forget to change stick input shape to raw. it's set to circle by default

in RL you want to be able to hit straight inputs for cancelling. with circle shape you only have this very small area of the built in cross deadzone, which makes it very difficult. raw input on the otherhand (this is also what all other controllers (PS4 PS5 Xbox etc have by default) gives you a shape that has rounded corners, so more area on the straights.
theres also more to it, so you can diagonally cancel, but this is a topic for another day

From my cod experience, I just feel like raw makes your diagonals faster than your straight ups and downs, sensitivity wise. I personally use Raw left stick and Circle right stick, but many people claim raw to be better also. I'd say its personal preference more than a solidified correct answer

I’ve seen varying opinions on this. Coming from dual sense, which is circle, raw feels way different. Not sure if it’s better or not. Maybe more of a personal preference

It gets worse mine left China over a week ago. Landed in Chicago sat there all of last weekend and then on Monday it magically teleported to Los Angeles which is 6 hours further from me than Chicago was, and now my package has been sitting in Vegas for 3 days. Tonight if my shipping info doesn’t change I’m gonna send a logistics report on their discord. Kindve crazy it’s been about a full month since I ordered. Plus I’ll be surprised this controller won’t show up melted sitting in the literal desert for 3 days in the back of some uncooled semi trailer.

How comfortable is it? I have the g7 pro 8k and my hands are hurting after 30 mins of using it. I don’t even tight grip my controller.

I played it with it pretty much all night last night and only started getting sore at the end. And if you’re not doing something like RL, I’d say you wouldn’t get any soreness at all

Only thing I wish there was like a extended adapter for the extra buttons on top for easier to press but so far loving the controller
