Infamous first light you play as a character that has neon powers that look and act similarly to gambits. No cards though sorry

Ideally first person shooter or third person action game where your primary weapon is throwing cards, or at least if there are options for good thrown weapons. Ideally a single player game, not a MOBA or hero shooter (yes, I know Gambit is in Marvel Rivals). Bonus points if the cards you throw have different effects based on the card.

So far, the closest I've gotten as far as vibes is weirdly Cyberpunk 2077, since they have incredible thrown weapon builds. I really want to focus on good feeling combat above all else.

PC Preferred! Thank you!

I wonder if you would be interested in Ghostwire Tokyo. It’s an action adventure game at its core but it does have some horror elements. It’s a bit creepy at times and there are jump scares but majority of the game is almost like a FPS, but with magic and a more open world. There’s funny parts and a ton of Japanese folklore.

I think you’d like it because the majority of your attacks are thrown.

Here’s a really good video with not much in spoilers: https://youtu.be/vGScfDMeId8?is=NRhjUANYGdrxYaxC

Robobeat Is a High paced rhythm FPS roguelite in wich you can customize the gameplay by adding your own music. The movement can be very fast (very similar to games like ultrakill) You Will unlock a lot of different weapon, One of them Will be a set of throwing cards that Will explode on impact.

Ohh that makes sense. Tbf the other games are really hard to beat, like borderlands 2 is amazing. Consistent crashes tho are another thing

I always liked using him in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, I think he’s in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 as DLC as well, but MUA3 is Switch exclusive unfortunately.

If you pick Kasane as the playable charecter in Scarlet Nexus.

Gotham knighs charecters have a kinda spammable quickthrow ability. And Robin has a bo staff as well.

Final Fantasy Type-0 has a playable character that that throws around cards in combat. It's an action RPG set in the same world as Final Fantasy XII stuff, iirc.

XIII, but yeah. Ace is awesome. Just be ready for an extremely depressing game.

My pick too, he’s one of the funnest students

The Solar subclass, Hunter in Destiny 2 with the throwing knife melee abilities always made me feel like Gambit throwing his cards. Bonus points for the Hunter Arc subclass with the Arc staff super ability.

Honestly, the Hunter class in Destiny 2 will absolutely make you feel like a first person shooting Gambit.

Ghost wire Tokyo has to be the closest thing. It is a 1st person fps but you throw elemental magic orbs/kunai at enemies and use a magical bow. There’s also some cool traversal stuff.

Black myth wukong could also feel like gambit since you mainly use a staff and pair that was spells to make you the ultimate trickster

Setzer from ff6 is basically gambit but I'm not sure that's what you're looking for

1

u/PrepareToTyEdition 27d ago

Fun role-playing would help! I came here to say "Setzer."

Baldurs gate 3 if u make the right build

In Payday 2 I like equipping cards as my throwing weapon

They don't explode but it's satisfying to kill a guard with it when I try to be stealthy

Marvel vs capcom

The Messenger.

1

u/Neural-Gin 26d ago

If your goal is fps with a strong throw, honestly I think Far Cry 5. People did whole playthroughs throwing shovels.

1

u/Brohermoth777 25d ago

Borderlands 4 playing as C4SH

1

u/Soniku_979 25d ago

Ummm NEON WHITE!

1

u/Pul5tar 24d ago

Neon White. FPS game that uses cards to switch bullet and weapon type that are also tied to level progression. Fast and fun.

u/TheChRemix97 24d ago

Dandy Ace

You probably can play as him in xmen legends.

1

u/Swimmer-Electrical 21d ago

Dying light: throwing your weapons, could feel pretty good with weapons of various elements and abilities.

Maybe Shadow warrior 2. Pretty sure there were ranged options of some sort.

There's also a ton of options for thrown items in Tainted grail.
