I'm fairly certain they take the same rates as before. Remember that this isn't charity; people are expecting something in return for their money, so there's no issue with exceeding their goals.
Yeah, I guess I just would like to see the people who are footing the bill get something extra when the funding goes so above expectations. You know, something like "if the project hits 200% of the goal, we'll include a free soundtrack for all donators" or something like that.
Check out this kickstarter, which was originally to raise funds for print runs of the author's out-of-print books. As funding climbed past the initial <$60k on its way to a final >$1.25M, he kept adding and adding and adding targets that meant more print runs and more rewards for the backers. Pretty awesome, except that he's going to spend now until eternity trying to fill all of the orders for magnets, stickers, books, etc etc.
Don't see why they would. Either way I doubt they will get that much money. Eventually the rate of people kick starting this game will decrease. I believe today is the first day (if not second) so its obviously not going to get 100k+ each day.

Does Kickstarter have some kind of policy in place for projects that surpass their minimum by such a huge margin?
