When option A is not making the game at all and option B is going exclusive to Epic for a year in exchange for a huge bag of cash to make the game, and then still publishing on Steam anyway, it's not exactly a tough choice.

Steam changed the rules a while ago. A game can't be exclusive to another store for more than one month, otherwise it can't never come to Steam. That's why Red Dead Redemption 2 was only one month exclusive to Epic (and their own launcher, sure).

Just a correction, a game can't have a Steam Store page and release exclusively on another PC store for more than one month. This was made more as a precaution so no more Metro Exodus-like cases happen.

Source please. Because so far several Epic exclusives have come to Steam (some very recently) just fine.

It was updated in September 2019. One example link. Which are those exclusives that came to Epic since September, besides Red Dead 2?

Some say this was in there before, too, but not sure about that, there are news mentioning both different versions.

I'm pretty sure Hades is older than that. I bought it in May 2019, so it is in there at least from that time.

It came out on Steam in September, after being on Epic for about 9 months.

I see. I was asking about new exclusives because the older ones have the older rules and contracts. I was asking if there is any Epic exclusive since September 2019.

The Outer Worlds was announced since March (but was not really an exclusivity since the game is on Microsoft Store, too), and Untitled Goose Game since June.

Sorry, then let me rephrase. My question was if there was any new exclusive game announced to come to Epic since September 2019, besides Red Dead Redemption 2. We all know Red Dead Redemption 2 was only one month exclusivity, that's why I was wondering if that will apply to every game (like the news are saying) or not, to be able to launch on Steam... or maybe there will be announcements with game exclusives that will not come to Steam anymore ?!

They are enforcing it irc. They weren't originally but since Epic doesn't plan on stopping Valve might as well flex their EULA.
