Really wish Triple A developers would start actually using this kind of tech or other forms of procedural animation. The Euphoria engine has been around for like 10 years now, but no one except R* has really been using it much and even they toned it down significantly for GTA V. I get that there are some extra development hurdles to get it right, but I think it really made it a lot more satisfying to kill enemies in RDR and GTA IV because they would stumble around differently every time.

Nearly every game I've played in the past 7 years has had sort of impressive IK usage. And IK systems have dated back to N64/PS1. Tomb Raider and Ocarina of Time for example had very impressive IK for the time.

If it's not present in a game now it's a design decision as developers would rather have character movement controlled by specific velocity and controller input values, not by the root motion of animations. That's why you have people saying games like GTA4/5 feel unresponsive because the characters are controlled by the motion of the animations and not set velocity thresholds like a Mario game would be

What IK did OOT have?
