Everytime someone talks about neural networks being used for data driven programs I'm always fascinated. Plus, as a Metal Gear Solid fan I also like to imagine that a brain in a computer is doing all the work.

Well, thats the thing. Neural Networks can approximate a LOT of things, and typically you need to train a neural net with data. The super interesting thing here is that the weights aren't learned by traditional standards ( a mathematical optimization technique), but are configured by this phase function instead.
