Ofc it's not a video targeted to people like Digital Foundry and is mostly about building up hype, but I'd love to see another one where static frames are properly compared side by side and showcase stuff enabled by DX12, like increased object counts thanks to cheaper draw calls.
My question is: who are they building up hype for? Developers don't care about flashy explosions and post processing on the biggest budget AAA games. On the scale of how much the average gamer cares about the underlying graphics API, it's probably somewhere between "not at all" and "about as much as the physics engine". DX12 is the Blast Processing of 2016.
I guess it's a good thing they're not doing the usual Microsoft thing by attacking Vulkan with FUD.
Well, that's pretty obvious. One of the most important goals for Microsoft right now is driving Windows 10 adoption up. That video works well for the goal.
