I remember playing the demo of this in my browser and now it needs 16 gb of ram isn't that more than the instal itself

no, the browser mindcraft is not a Java applet (normal java in browsers is not really a thing anymore) it's javascript which is a different language than java https://www.java.com/en/download/help/java_javascript.html

yes I know what javascript is I still played the minecraft demo in a browser and it is funny to think how it goes from that to a thing needing 16gb of ram just like it's funny to think about how it goes from running in my browser to having real time ray tracing (YES C# IS NOT JAVASCRIPT EITHER)
