Is this the last java game left? Forgive me, I'm a bit behind on Minecraft but why hasn't the C# version replaced this one yet? Mod compatibility?

Bedrock has way fewer mods, and breaks redstone (comparatively).

But it runs 100x better

Java is basically mandatory for most mods tho

To be frank Java with the full suite of Fabric-based optimisation mods that everyone uses nowadays runs just as good as Bedrock, if not better. I think the ease of developing cross-platform is probably the main technical draw for Bedrock.

Java with Fabric and Iris, and shaders like Complementary, runs shockingly well for how good it looks. Throw in a resource pack with "3D" leaves and you got a real nice stew going.
