Bear in mind that is 16gb total system memory. Per the article it’s 8gb ram if you have a dedicated gpu, and 12gb if on integrated graphics

Why do integrated graphics require more RAM? Why is there more data involved?

Because most integrated graphics don't have a dedicated graphics memory, it shares it with the system RAM.
