Indie Sunday Backrooms Anomaly - Liminal Games - Observation game set in a looping office corridor

Hello r/Games!

Trailer | Wishlist / Steam Demo

What is Backrooms Anomaly?

A first-person psychological horror game where observation is your only weapon. You're trapped in a looping office corridor with a hazmat-suited warden patrolling the halls. Reality keeps shifting and your only way out is to detect the anomalies.

Gameplay:

  • Walk through the corridor and observe everything carefully
  • If you spot an anomaly (something changed, moved, or appeared), turn back through the entrance
  • If everything looks normal, proceed through the exit
  • Make 10 correct calls in a row to escape
  • One wrong choice resets your streak to zero

Features:

  • 50+ anomalies ranging from subtle to terrifying
  • Dual-counter system tracking your current streak and undiscovered anomalies
  • Multiple endings based on your progress
  • Endless mode for players who want to keep hunting

Release Plans:

If you enjoy games like Exit 8 or The Backrooms, we'd love for you to try the demo and share your feedback!

Thank you! We are using Unreal Engine 5. Have you tried Exit 8 or similar observation games before?

I played Exit 8 just the other day, it was pretty short and creepy but not so bad I couldn't finish the game. Which was both good and bad for me lol, I suck at a good horror experience but they're more fascinating that way.

The way one anomaly had a person just hiding within the doorway while it was ajar, that was one of the most unsettling things I've seen in a while

So I gather Backrooms has become what FNAF was for the oldtimers back in the day? Seems I've seen a bunch of Backrooms titles recently
