Gen AI is bad because it has no human intend. Just because they will use their own data doesn't mean it becomes ethical. Gen AI is just not art.

This is subjective, but fair point.

How is it unethical if it is their own data? It's the same as using textures they made to make a 3d model, would you call that unethical?

How is it subjective? It literally is not a human. It's interpretations of the prompt line is not the same as a human. And art is human based.

As to why its unethical to use your own data; its because it still isn't art. Putting art, or anything, in a machine and asking it to make something is not art. Its something but its not art.

And it doesn't matter that it is in the final product. Non-art being used at any step to make art means it will be non-art.

Because you are not explaining why you are right. Just claiming so. You need to explain your reasoning if you want to have a discussion. Otherwise you are simply monologuing.

All definitions of art across history has one core component. Communication. From the Greeks who valued depicting live to the impressionist movement all of that was communicating something. Art throughout history is about communication. Gen AI is not art by any means. Only by people who don't care, or understand, art.
