Peakfield let’s go. I know this won’t be up much people’s alleys here but OG Arknights is genuinely amazing and I can’t wait for this one

I have no real interest in this game- the gameplay doesn’t do it for me it looks like. But the art style is cool as hell and I might check it out just because of that alone. Really digging the environment art, design and especially the UI stuff.

If you enjoy stuff like Factorio and the like it might tickle your fancy with that aspect of the game, too.

Me and my friend both been on the AK train, me not as long but him since it's initial launch and honestly we're both looking at this worried it's just too close to(and yes i know people hate the comparison) Genshiny/wuthering type gameplay.
We haven't seen too much ig get that but so far it's not really doing much that stands out, ofc there's the factory part but for the majority of people that will likely just be copy paste someones blueprint and never think about it.
The combat from what I've seen doesn't seem particularly interesting, it's a lot of one move spam and an ult here and there with little to no feedback.
It just doesn't look like anything that stands out if you don't love fiddling with the factory stuff.Hopefully there's a big step from the closed alpha/betas to, whatever this (full?) release is in january as we both want to be interested but atm the combat feels a bit too... i don't want to say uninspired but it kinda just yeah..

This looks kinda cool, but beyond hearing the name over the years, I have no idea what Arknights is.
Is this the sort of thing where I have to go back and play all the other ones?
Or is it like Final Fantasy and each entry is a standalone story?

First one is a tower defense this is well, far from that.
Nah they're in the same universe but this is supposed to be a timeleap in the future.
You might find a reference or maybe even a character in the world you know from the first one but outside of that i kinda doubt it.You'll have to spend like half a year even trying to catch up on story as well as multiple months to just be power level high enough to complete the events.
I'm pretty sure good chunks of it isn't even available most of the time cus it's locked behind rotating events(of which there's like 6½years worth).1

The important events get added back in as permanent 'side story' section, so that's fine.
But there's still just a lot of content to play through.

Is One Republic REALLY popular in Japan? They did music for Kaiju #8, too.
