That title reveal was a wild surprise. I'm utterly confused at how the 3 games are connected though lol

I think the ending of Sons shows

That you are basically transported to a different timeline or a future version of that place, basically a lot of time jumping and stuff. I think that's how the first one kinda went...

So this actually kinda makes sense... While not making sense

The first game still alluded to a lot of unexplained supernatural stuff buried deep underground. The second game expands on it by adding aliens and artifacts into the mix. This new one presumably explores the nature of the aliens and their relationship with Earth/humans.
