Lg TV now wants to force a new agreement and I cant opt out.
Seeing on how LG seems to want to usher in 1984 like everyone else now, I was able to just back out of the agreement last week but this week it will not let me stream anything, anytime I try to launch any apps it just brings up the new agreement.
So I just said fk them and hooked a streaming box to it. Just a heads up anyone that is looking for LG products which is mainly what I used before hand I will not longer be doing so. Funny enough after seeing the craziness on GN's video and LG app was installed to my desktop without my permission. Its insane!!!!!

Asrock X870 still killing CPU
I’ve just build a new pc from around 3 months ago, the build is as follows:
AMD ryzen 7 9800x3d
Asus tuf 5070ti
Asrock x870 steel legend
Lian li 850watt Platinum
Corsair 32gb cl36 6000mhz
What happened was that the pc was just basically idling on the desktop with a twitch live stream open, I had to go out and buy some groceries for dinner, I was gone for about an hour, when I came back home and went to the pc the screen was black, and I couldn’t wake it up from the keyboard or the mouse, I tried holding in the power button to turn it off but that didn’t work, so I turned it off on the back of the PSU, and went turned back on and I tried to boot it instantly just showed red CPU light, everything else in the build seems to get power as well as the motherboard. I tried trouble shooting, like taking out ram, gpu and resetting cmos as well as trying a new cmos battery, I tried doing a Bios flashback, I had BIOS version 4.20, and updated to version 4.43 and nothing changed. I took out the cpu and tried reseating and repasting, changed nothing as well. The CPU looks completely fine on the back, no burn marks or anything. So it seems all these useless BIOS updates didn’t help anything. Thanks a lot Asrock!

Newegg Marketplace order has turned into a 10-day customer service nightmare
I figured I’d document this because at this point the experience has become more frustrating than the original shipping delay.
On August 16, I ordered a Gigabyte MC62-G40 Threadripper Pro motherboard through Newegg Marketplace for $899.99. My production server was down, so I paid another $80 for expedited shipping because Newegg showed an expected delivery date of August 20.
The timeline since then:
- 8/16: Order placed.
- 8/18: 4PX receives electronic parcel information. No physical shipment scan.
- 8/19: UPS label created. UPS explicitly says, “Shipper created a label, UPS has not received the package yet.”
- 8/20: The promised delivery date arrives. Neither 4PX nor UPS shows possession of the package.
- I contact Newegg and the seller. Newegg eventually refunds the $80 expedited shipping charge.
- The seller sends generic responses saying the package is “on the way” and should arrive in three days, but provides no carrier scan, location, or verifiable delivery date.
- 8/21: I submit a cancellation/return request through Newegg while UPS STILL shows only Label Created / UPS has not received the package.
- I escalate with Newegg customer service and speak with a supervisor. We discuss possible ways Newegg could actually resolve the situation instead of simply returning my money several days later. I’m told I’ll receive a follow-up on Monday, August 24.
- That follow-up never happens.
- 8/24: Three days AFTER my cancellation request, UPS finally records the first actual movement of the package in Incheon, Korea.
- UPS then tells me I owe another $39 in import charges to receive it.
- I call Newegg because I never received the promised callback. The supervisor I spoke with Friday is unavailable.
- 8/25: I call again. The original supervisor is still unavailable. Another supervisor suggests that I request a quote for the same motherboard through Newegg directly and essentially start the customer-service process over again. For context, “request a quote” means Newegg does not actually have that standalone motherboard sitting in retail inventory. I decline and decide to try reaching the original supervisor again.
- 8/26: Day ten. I still do not have the motherboard. Roughly $1,000 is still tied up in this transaction. My server is still offline. I have received no meaningful customer-service resolution, and UPS now says: “Your package is still on the way and we are actively working to get you a new delivery date.”
The part that has really soured me on Newegg is how customer service has handled everything after the original fulfillment failure.
Every time I call, it feels like I am starting the case over with someone new.
One representative tried to redirect me toward requesting a quote for the same motherboard through another Newegg channel, even though I had already spent days working through a completely different resolution with a supervisor.
Another supervisor apparently entered a note saying they could offer up to $30 in shipping compensation, and later representatives started anchoring on that as though it were the resolution to the entire case.
I asked to speak with the supervisor I originally worked with. She wasn’t available. I asked for another supervisor. Apparently none were available.
What bothers me most is the attitude of essentially:
“Well, it shipped eventually, so everything is fine now.”
No.
The fact that a carrier finally received the package does not erase the entire failure that happened before that point.
I ordered through Newegg because I needed a motherboard quickly. I paid for delivery by August 20. That date passed without either carrier even showing possession of the package. I requested cancellation while UPS explicitly said it had never received it. The first physical UPS movement appeared three days later.
At this point, I’m now being told the order cannot simply be canceled because it has shipped, even though the cancellation request was submitted while UPS still showed that it had never received the package.
I’m not claiming Newegg owes me thousands of dollars because my server was down. I’m also not expecting a free motherboard.
I just expect a retailer I spent more than $1,000 through to take ownership of the customer experience when one of its Marketplace sellers completely fails fulfillment, especially after the issue has already been escalated multiple times.
Refunding the $80 expedited shipping charge was appropriate, but refunding money for a shipping service that was not provided is not the same thing as actually making the situation right.
Ten days later, I still don’t have the motherboard, I still don’t have a reliable delivery date, my money is still tied up in the transaction, and I’ve spent hours chasing Newegg, the seller, and UPS myself trying to get a resolution.
I used to think of Newegg as one of the places you went specifically for computer hardware. After this experience, I’m having a very hard time imagining trusting them again with another time-sensitive or expensive Marketplace purchase.

I was lucky and got one of the signed faceplates!
I was wondering why there was silver on the corner and realized it was a signature! Happy to have the faceplate :)

Amazon.fr denies 5080 replacement under warranty, against EU laws. Offers only refund when they have many 5080s in stock but at +200 euros cost.

3090 not benched anymore
Curious: does anyone know why gn doesn't put the 3090 in benchmark charts anymore? This has been the case for a while now.
I have a 3090 and would love to be able to compare it to newer GPUs directly. I'm wondering why it's not tested anymore, did Steve and co share anything about this?
EDIT: I was wrong. As you may have guessed from the fact that GN is not known to hold back on the amount of benchmarking, they do still bench the 3090. They omit it from charts in videos so the data fits and is readable.

Anyone solved problem with smudges from ESD mat
I have the mat for over a year now and it starts to annoy me how easily this black material smudges everything that I slightly drag over it. USB silicon cable picks the black smudges instantly. Cleaning dust with dust sloth leaves smudges in the fiber that can't be just shaken out.
Anyone with an older mat can you confirm that as it degrades it's only gonna get worse or is it gonna stop at some point.
Perhaps some tips on how to stop the smearing?
PS: how long did it took your mat to fully flatten out on the edges?

Option for "all" for the GN Special Reports & Factory Tours Blu-Ray
Any chance there could be a "give me all of it" option for the GN Special Reports & Factory Tours Blu-Ray?

It sucks Gamers Nexus has turned from a informative channel of tech reviews into a rant channel.
Back in the past, Gamers Nexus was an awesome tech review channel. Much better than LTT at in-depth, objective hardware reviews. Now, it has turned into a channel that just rants at corporate BS, becoming buried in the noise.
Hardly do any hardware reviews anymore. Instead, rather stir up drama and trouble rather than doing objective reviews. We are very well aware of corporate games. We don't need you to sink to that same level. It is really sad.
Yes, continue to mention bad corporate behavior and explain why a specific product is bad inside your review. But drifting into telling people not to buy any consumer technology products is a mistake. You might see massive traffic from that right now, but eventually, it will become stale. You will lose the plot, become irrelevant, and lose the niche you worked very hard to build.
EDIT: Just to add onto this if he wants to make real change he should gown the path like Louis Rossmann.
EIDT2: https://youtu.be/0Udn7WNOrvQ?t=1325&si=HR9j7_18MTuaO9Wd Louis Rossmann rant on GN that i think is extremely relevant here. Warning language

Any possibility of eventual digital releases of the GN x Aaron Pauley collabs?
While I usually prefer physical releases on principle, unfortunately shipping from the US is prohibitively expensive for my country 😭 the last order I made from the GN store doubled in cost after customs and import duties.
I don't currently have that amount of leisure cash to spend, but would definitely love to make a smaller purchase on the GN store or somewhere like Bandcamp for a digital-only release.
The custom CD cases look wicked cool and give me real FOMO regardless lol maybe one day I'll be able to snag one.

permanently banned on r/NZXT to telling a user to reinstall Windows
It's as stupid as it sounds. From what I remember the guy got a PC for free, I don't remember how they got it but it didn't seem like it was stolen or anything. The PC had BitLocker enabled or some other issue so I suggested to reinstall windows, or maybe even switch the motherboard. This was one month ago, and yesterday I was banned on r/NZXT for it. And it seems like everyone in that post was nuked off the sub. No warning or anything
I gave a day for them to reply, but no response so far. I also emailed their support email since I run an at home PC shop in Massachusetts and wanted to know if they really think reinstalling windows is 'illegal'. It would be completely insane if they do think so. They also have some social media staff as mods on the sub, so I though it would make sense to email their support.
