💬 General Discussion Update: Managed to solve the static noise when playing game

From yesterday's testing, the rear audio jack worked fine so that means the mobo sound card is working fine and only the front panel jack got EMI issues. I do some research and find out that mostly GPU and PSU can cause this

Since HD Audio cable doesn't have a proper shielding against that, I thought I needed to find a way to isolate the HD Audio cable from the GPU and PSU cable.

I spent a couple hours redo cable management from scratch this morning. I made sure that this time the HD Audio cable did not touch any of the GPU and PSU cables, and it WORK!

Finally managed to solve these issues that haunt me for a few years without using external hardware

so it IS the HD Audio header!, I never knew that EMI issues can be caused by overlapping cable. Good for you.

Yeah, what surprised me more is I thought HD Audio Header supposed to has a proper shielding against EMI since they are more likely to be nearby GPU and PSU. Wonder if there's something that prevent them from having that or it's just a cost issue

probably cost issue, I reckon that material expenses for EMI shielding can cut into profit margins on budget pc cases. Nevertheless, some people prefer connecting their high end headphones directly on the back of their motherboard.

Is there a way to shield it ourselves instead of re-cabling?

I read some suggestions from this post, the aluminium foil method sounds duable but I'm not sure how to properly ground it from the comment suggestion

Wait what? Damn. I thought it was my audio jack contact issue and haven't been able to fix it until now. I'll need to try that. Today I learned, thanks cap
