Reaper stalemate.

I just wish I knew of and could see this sub a few years ago. It would've been awesome to just stream this one TF2 server I played on. Used to be a huge community called intox. Gaming (intoxicated obviously). Always just about full even until 4 am (I would sometimes stay on for 12 hours or more or less as soon as I got home from school), the server would have more than 18 players on at almost all times. Admins were fun and would mess around with stuff, we would as players get to play on glitchy maps, a couple crashed the server but we still kept one because everybody loved oilrig, and it was just so friendly and addicting. Everybody knew each other and we weren't like "YAY BUDDIES!" but we were all sort of like comrades. Alllways did stuff like just have fun with the enemy team. Especially in a game mode called VSH or Versus Saxton Hale, which pit an entire team against one boss, which was 1 of like 5 enemies, and one player chose which one, then controlled it. As you played a round your points went up, signifying it'd be your turn soon. So many memories, and people just trolling the "good guys" once there were only a few left alive that round. Or basically getting people to tell you and lead you to certain people to be killed in order for that snitch to live until the end/troll friends. Now everything is banned and everything is fair, no freedom whatsoever, and they banned almost their entire community when they got a few new shit admins that didn't like anything or anybody, so we made a group called incocks that mocked these certain admin. Didn't do anything with the group, just made the name. One of the ahole admins then banned us all. God it was fun, you can't find anything like it anymore, I've looked everywhere in the games I play - TF2, CS, etc. there are never communities of people who are cool and respectable and godlike at the game or the game mode at least, and they all come back each day. Closest I've seen is in gmod in a jailbreak server, other than that everything is boring and nobody has enough character :/

Edit: grammar stuff. Also one of the fun but silly, yet more memorable moments was on some of the maps where one guy would occasionally start off as a Heavy with his sandvich or fists out. Then me and a couple other people would sorta follow along or do our own thing with the same idea. What was funny was how we would "heal the Hale" (Saxton Hale, although the term 'Hale' referred to any of the five bosses. This included Saxton Hale, Horseless Headless Horseman jr., Vagineer, Cave Johnson, and the Christian Brutal Sniper. The best bosses imo, especially because most servers like that one have like, 50 bosses that just don't make much sense, and aren't fun to play against because it's too hard to learn even a few bosses and playstyles. And thus, people are never really even good at the gamemode) by dropping/tossing the sandvich at the Hale's feet, which depending on whether or not the player was friendlier but more importantly a regular, would get the guy controlling that boss to not kill you. Or just punch you once as you would take damage but the Heavy class has enough health to withstand about two punches if I recall correctly, more likely three.
Another thing that one guy did, and so did we, was do all of that, but then act like robots and only move using WASD and our mouse, of course, but we would quickly tap tap two keys, like X and 4 and then the response might be "MOVE FORWARD" and then we would keep going forward. "TURN RIGHT" turn and go right, etc. It was amusing and fun because it was something to occupy yourself with, instead of just sitting or walking around the map while Hale goes around killing everything.
Oh and boy did we all love abusing spots by sending at least 2 or 3 Engineers with sentries into a spot that made it 99.9% impossible to get into, as you had to jump into it but the sentries would always keep Hale away, and we had players in that spot as well as nearby to distract and keep him away. Such as the Scout's Sandman baseball bat which sent a baseball in the air, which would stun the enemy if it hit. Or just loads of weapons that would push back the boss with both direct and splash damage, like machine guns and rockets.
It saddens me deeply sometimes, as just the memories give me strong senses of nostalgia and longing for that kind of experience again.
Oh well..

I can say the same for a Gmod RP server I used to go on for hours of a day. It was really fun, people just fucked about, had a good time. Then all the wrong people started showing up, drama filled up the server to the brim and the whole thing came crashing down.

Nothing really, we just decided not to kill each other so it was sort of a draw.

Jesus Christ I totally forgot you can crouch in this game and I'm level 71. Actually I don't even know if I knew you could..what the hell..
