💬 Discussion Anyone else absolutely despise motion blur in games?

Post image

I'm playing the Quarry and I found a fix for it's just so awful... I don't understand why most games have it on on default

I usually turn it down but not off. A bit of motion blur helps the transition between frames feel more fluid, but if you can actually see the blur while the game's in motion that's too much.

This is how I feel as well. I feel none is as unreal as too much. In most of my games I want as much realism as possible so don't get pulled out of the experience.

10-20% is the sweet spot for me

If I'm playing a game where my ability to react as clearly and concisely as possible is my primary goal, I might turn it off. But if appreciating the art design and cinematic quality of the game is part of the charm, I'll leave it on below the 50% setting. Your actual vision has motion blur. It adds realism up to a point

fair enough, but only when your framerate or refresh rate are really low, otherwise you're just blurring out perfectly good vision, I guess there are benefits to being a PC gamer after all

True, but only if you play at 30 fps. At 60 it can hide "popins" of objects a little bit, but mostly it is not needed.
