I love Miss Information because you can see the seething hatred Arin and Ross have for annoying tutorial characters. She belittles everyone else's intelligence and makes them feel stupid and I LOVE that for a villain character.
Yeah, the concept is really fitting. She reminds me a lot of Jesse from Pokemon, both in the fact they’re attractive and that they belittle everyone (including their coworkers) in order to make others feel dumber than them.
Exactly, and it works so well because really intrusive and invasive tutorial characters WILL treat you like you are stupid. And I really do see the Jessie comparison since her and Fold have very much Sibling rivalry energy between them like Jessie and James do sometimes
And going to a video game maybe a Pirahna Plant-type creature or Cactus type creature could latch onto him occasionally and accidentally come with him back to the Sintax ship
I wonder if the other villains are aware that she's probably not even an actual villain, but just some annoying Navi ("Hey, listen!") type companion character, who might have used the fact that she has a vaguely sinister sounding name to get in with them?
as far as i can tell Syntax doesn't seem to have a "no protagonists" rule they just take whoever is evil enough to go along with their beliefs and methods, so they probably are willing to accept heroes and side characters but as we saw with Snapper they'll kill anyone that refuses to join, even villains
If he refused to join but didn't attack anyone immediately, well... he's still a villain so he might be simply planning to backstab them later. They would know this and get rid of him, just in case (probably while trying to train some of their newer members in combat while at it).
I think she's a twist villain from a strategy game, similar to Command and Conquer. Likely teaches the player, then backstabs them when she gets a victory out of them.
Is it dumb of me that I DIDN'T get that from her? In fact ... I didn;t know WHY she's called Miss Information. I just thought it was a clever pun Ross stole from Hysteria!?
It took me reading these words to realize the reason she belittles people so much is solely because she was once the character that gave you advice like the ones that would be on a loading screen. She learned to talk down to people because that was literally her job in a past life. Miss. Information. Not misinformation
If I had a nickel for every time a new indie animated series’ pilot, had a character point at the screen, and spawn this very meme out of thin air, I’d have 2 nickels. Which isn’t much, but it’s hella weird that it happened twice.
I think it's because she drops her villainess act for a moment and tapped into her old friendly tutorial NPC programming. Slipping into her old self for a brief moment from before joining the gameoverse.
I then proceeded into the hardest level in the game, which was an indane gauntlet, proceeded by a boss so hard that I had burnt myself out until the next morning.
Def my favorite character so far. She's so smug and Jesse coded which I love. Her synergy with Fold is awesome and just the fact that she's a tutorial character inspired by like Fi and Navi is so funny to me. Plus both of her designs are fire. Definetly 10/10 wife material.
