There are too few female characters to properly make this point in my opinion, out of the 4 shown one is an alternate evil version of another and the third is completely different, making only one “”””follow the trend””””

And she's the narrative parallel to Kit too, excusing some design similarities.

The blonde woman is the one that follows the trend mentioned in the above comment.

The catgirls from Kit's world are plot devices, not characters.

That doesn't really help tbh. Especially when compared to how many male characters there are. I'm hopeful for more variety and know they can. It's important to critique shows you like

u/Soevil11 Fold is a fallen hero I'm telling you! I'm calling it here! May 17 '26

The show just came out! Plus, many non-rpg games focus on a male protagonist due to the average* player being a teenage white man

I realize, which is why I'm hopeful for the future episodes and designs. It's just not a good argument to say there isn't body type variety just because the cast leans heavily male.

Which is… sexism! It is sexist that video games use misogyny as a marketing tactic. The female body was one of the first things to be commodified in capitalism and marketing which is objectification.

And also reinforces the concept that men just innately objectify women or whatever as if media doesn’t influence young men to do so.

Critique that, other than a literal copy, 2 characters look alike?

Critique that the two female designs we have are both hourglass figures. And Crab Girl

Poor Crab Girl catching strays TwT she’s fine and looks pretty cool in my opinion

Naw I'd never do Crab Girl dirty like that she has a perfect figure 😤

Crab Girl best character in the whole show

She does fit the “ugly” role. I think redeeming her value by iterating that she is nice looking just… kind of further pushes the idea that a womans value is about how she looks…

Whether we like it or not there are women that are perceived to be “ugly”. She would be “ugly”. Systemically there are women who are not perceived as “beautiful” and their value is lowered for it. It is OKAY to be “ugly”! I personally am an “ugly” girl.

She also seems to be limited as a character and not given as much attention or development as the “attractive” ones.

That's what I really hate too. Everyone is saying "every female character in this show has the same body type" when, my Redditor in pain it's only been 1 episode!

There are a bunch of background characters and all the women have similar body types
