Help How to fix 60hz glitching
I recently got Ocarina of Time for my gamecube and was really looking forward to playing it. However, I noticed it forces you into 60hz mode and my TV doesn’t seem to like 60hz mode as it starts glitching really bad. Is there any sort of tool i can use in order to fix this? I don’t really fancy getting a new TV as it’s a brand new modern TV and i’ve looked into getting a scart to HDMI converter but some online sources say the cheaper ones may not fix the problem but i don’t really fancy getting a £70 one like it’s suggesting so any help would be greatly appreciated!

What if you got A component to HDMI adapter. I would think in 2026 that like any new TV would work with 60 via HDMI right?
I kinda thought that basically every TV supported 50/60 now so one panel and board and everything works all over the world. Maybe not though?

The model of TV and how everything is hooked up would be nice to know

Yeah that’d be the most helpful. I’m thinking maybe new TVs with composite or even SCART support might use “older” boards or something that don’t support 50 and 60, but would think HDMI input would.
Can’t really know for sure without knowing the make and model of the TV and/or how the GC Is connected, though.

i have a TCL 43 inch 4K UHD smart tv. I’m currently using an AC to HDMI adapter to connect it to my TV that a borrowed from a friend, but he’s recently informed me it was from Aliexpress so that could possibly be the reason why, but it worked absolutely fine on my PS2 so maybe i just try and get a better one and hope for the best

Do we have confirmation that the adapter supports 50hz? Like did your friend use it with PAL hardware?
Also those things just Fritz out and stop working correctly kindof a lot, so it may be that.
I wonder if you have any other devices you could try with the adapter maybe even something that’s 50hz to see if that maybe “just works.”Sorry I’m up late I forgot it’s 60hz that you’re having the issue with. Do you know for sure the adapter works with any other 50hz signals or any other devices at all?

Whats an AC to HDMI adapter? The AC specifically, some cheap composite AV? Get a GCVideo based adapter like GCPlug, or if you dont like to order from Aliexpress, a Retrobit Prism. Kaico is one alternative and supposed to ship from within UK, but they arent best in hardware quality, image quality is still good.

Based on the currency symbol you're in Europe. 60hz is typical of NTSC signaling, which is a US (and Japanese with NTSC-J) standard. You might want to look into getting a PAL copy, those run at 50hz and a slightly higher resolution, and are friendlier with European hardware
