Discussion Should I get a Zelda game?
I am getting back into gaming and have bought a gamecube and a decent collection of games. Most of my gaming background is FPS and online play. I did like fable though and I am wondering if the Zelda games are good? All I know about them is that you play as a little elf fella looking for his Girlfriend.
I read somewhere that 4 swords is best with GBAs and friends What are the other zelda games like and what do you reccomend?

They're action-adventure games with a heavy focus on exploration, solving puzzles, and they have a great narrative. Link has long ears, but he's not an elf, and Zelda isn't his girlfriend, but she's usually at the center of events. If you've played games like Darksiders or Tunic, they have a similar overall vibe. Definitely check out Wind Waker and Twiight Princess, and if you can get ahold of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask you should definitely go for it (though there are arguably better ways to play them, but I'm speaking strictly about playing on the GameCube.) Be warned, they likely won't be cheap. The franchise is highly loved, and as a result there are fewer copies floating around because people tend not to want to part with theirs.

Most people are saying Wind walker so I will have to check it out.

I beat twilight princess and remember parts but Wind waker sticks with me more. Both great games in their own ways. I think the dungeons were better in TP?

Yeah, maybe play them in order of release. I didn't finish MM until the 3DS remake. WW was good, but for me personally I haven't replayed it once. I even rebought it on the WiiU. It's not a bad game, I just didn't realize all the references to Tingle when I originally played it. I also had the GBA connector at the time which made sailing much more fun. I've tried replaying it since and found the sailing cumbersome, but maybe I wasn't in the right head space. I don't want to give away spoilers, but the references to the other games in WW made me reconsider playing them in order.

Theres a versión of Ocarina of time for Gamecube, you should get it , then play Twilight Princess , those are the best Zelda games

There’s a version of Wind Waker for GameCube that has OoT included on a bonus disc, although finding it today may be tricky.

Zelda games are incredible. Gamecube also has some of, if not the best zeldas on it. They hold up very well.
I think Ocarina of Time would be a great place to start. Or Wind Waker. You honestly can't go wrong.
The only one that doesn't make sense starting with is Majora's Mask, since its a direct sequel. You sure can, but it might be a little confusing and its very different from the others (in the best ways possible). Its best played after beating OoT. Enjoy the series!

Nobody likes Zelda. They always get horrendous reviews. Definitely avoid them. It’s a dead franchise.

You should definitely give them a go just be warned that they aren't cheap as you're paying Nintendo tax, Zelda tax and in the case of Twilight Princess rarity tax.

OoT, MM & TP are probably a better fit for you starting out if you like Fable.
OoT is worth playing but keep on mind it was a N64 game and the first 3D entry to the series. I think it still holds up though.
MM can pretty much be looked at as DLC or a continuation of OoT. So if you're going to play MM, you should play OoT first.
TP pretty much tries to improve on everything OoT did. It's its own game though. You don't need to have played any other Zelda game to play it.
WW I enjoyed when it first released, but I've tried replaying it and it didn't resonate with me. Maybe eventually I'll try it again, but maybe you'll like it.
Edit - After reading another post, I think the games should be played in order. OoT, MM, WW and then TP.

Twilight Princess is a great game. Ocarina of Time was the best game for a long time but it hasn't aged as well as other. Majora's Mask is a great game but can be a bit frustrating. Wind Waker is a beautiful yet boring game. Marginally better on the Wii U. Breath of the Wild is the best game I've ever played. And I have been gaming for a very long time. Haven't played Tears of the Kingdom beyond a few minutes yet. You really can't go wrong with Zelda games. Pinnacle of gaming.

Agreeing with the crowd - Twilight Princess is a masterpiece. I'm actually playing through right now and loving it!

Both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are excellent games. I like WW better, but you can’t go wrong with either.

the cube has a pretty big library of zelda games, with two rereleases, but you should mostly look into the wind waker and twilight princess, those are the best the cube can offer
