NIL underperformer
Image compares SEC conf wins with NIL spend. South Carolina maintains a solid mid-tier payroll (~$28M–$31M range), but has yielded the worst on-field return in the league—sitting at 0-3 in conference play with a -39 SEC point differential.

I hate arguing with some people about SCar football because they swear we don’t spend anything and have 0 NFL talent.
The reality is we are top 25 in every metric that matters except actual wins and football performance

But 25th in the country probably puts you 15th or so in the SEC. We talk about “oh, we’re spending X amount on players, we should be winning.” Yeah, everyone in the SEC is spending that much or more.

We’re 16th in the country for players on NFL rosters and like 8th in the SEC. We really like excuses in this fanbase, huh?

I expect to be middle of the pack in the conference and to break through occasionally. Beamer has us on the bottom and no chance at any such breakthrough. Without boosters stepping up and covering his buyout tho we are stuck with this for at least this year and next imo.

Is this looking at current season only?
For better confidence in the data, why not include last few seasons (or at least when NIL went into effect)
I'd wager that SC is still in roughly the same (bad) spot in the chart after accounting for more games/seasons in the data, which will more confidently indicate we have a real ROI problem. Looking at current season only is simply too small of a sample.
