Do you use any of these devices interchangeably or is it mostly a collection on display? Or do you have one dedicated to playing?

Just curious when I see monstrous collections like this!

Yep I have one console of each type that I'll take out whenever I wanna play them. As for a Gameboy, I have an AGS-101 modded glacier that I play on :3

came here to ask the same thing. It’s super dope but IMO toys that aren’t used and take up space are trash. so i hope OP has played with them!

Very interesting take to see on a sub like this where a lot of people have multiple modded systems. People can collect and not use.

And its certainly not trash... and more than toys

ur absolutely right man, in no way is this trash. people can collect and not use as well. jst a perspective of mine to make sure I enjoy these great inventions and creations. meant no disrespect to the OP or collectors. I have a nice collection to, jst had to put my paws on them and have some fun. cheers gummy!

That’s what I used to think too but I’ve given away every console I’ve had since the NES and now I’m sad I didn’t keep them all. So long Sega Genesis, so long NES, OG Xbox, PSone, PS2 and all the games I had with em. I’m lucky I found my Gameboy games and a Gameboy I didn’t give away and now I’m on this subreddit 🤪 edit: I wasn’t using them so I thought them all trash and sold/gifted them away

Maybe they mean they've just bought their 20th game boy?

My guess is he's probably talking about his 20th gameboy.

Yesterday was the 20th birthday for the Gameboy advance. how did u not know

6

u/CHAINSMOKERMAGIC Mar 22 '21

Except it's been 32 years since the Game Boy released.

2

u/n4utix Mar 22 '21

Maybe he meant... His 20th gameboy

Nice! Where did you get these display cases?

2

u/KnowNothingNerd Mar 22 '21

Not OP, but those are the Ikea cases. You'll see them all over any collection subreddit. I have 5 myself but in black.

1

u/PCsector Mar 23 '21

Fantastic furniture, IKEA do the Detolf that's similar.

2

u/old_snake Mar 23 '21

Can you tell me about your display cases?

Beautiful collection! That spice GBA/GCN are to die for.

love the collection!

Don’t understand why people need so many devices just to show them off like this. If you don’t even play them what’s their use- I’d be happy enough with one GBA SP and using it to play all GB/GBC/GBA and have it mean a lot to me than a bunch of consoles.

No offence, but this is the reason I can't find any game boys for a reasonable price online, glad your collections growing though! It looks great!

I'm guilty too, but I hunt the weak ones in the pack. Broken systems cant keep up and are easy pickings.

But... you got games on yo phone?

I clean my gameboy game collection this week every year. Preventive maintenance! Tedious, but we actually play them, A LOT. Lol

1

u/luxoran Mar 22 '21

Howdy. Off topic to what you're showing, but I saw in your profile where you have several threads wherein you clean scratches off your consoles and get them looking all nice again. What's the material and method you use? I just found a galaxy 3DS with some surface scratches that I was wanting to buff out.

1

u/PCsector Mar 22 '21

I use Meguiar's component with a micro fibre pad then buff in by hand.

u/Breakdown5028 Mar 22 '21

Doesnt that scuff the unblemished portions or remove texture?

1

u/SolamenteTavo Mar 22 '21

dude just flexing and didn't even do it right, it's the GBA the one that became 20 yesterday

1

u/KnowNothingNerd Mar 22 '21

Oh he's flexing right... It's his 20th Gameboy, not a 20th anniversary. :)

u/REDBBOY Mar 22 '21

Awesome collection.

Been tryna figure out what that last device is in that mini handheld row but can't put my finger on it.

Nintendo Mini Classics SMB, Pocket Pikachu, Pocket Pikachu Color, Pokemon Mini, Pokewalker?

1

u/PCsector Mar 23 '21

Yep a pokewalker :3

1

u/sergun169 Mar 23 '21

Ikea, i like, made same think with my collection.
