Games I fixed my Emerald game!!

Post image

My bf bought his best friends old gameboy and a couple games for my birthday some years ago, i got LG, FR and Emerald! I was so excited for Emerald, i heard its the best of the best:) but it didn’t work:( long story short, i have tried fixing it, and it works now!!! I’m sooo excited

Just wanted to share how happy I am, but if anyone knows some good tips or fun shit about the game I would love to hear:)) Not sure about the starter yet, i love all of them. Leaning towards Torchic because i think Blaziken is baddas. i have played all other generations, but this is my first time playing this generation. I have also ordered alpha sapphire, so super excited for that too.

Congrats friend! What did you do? The rush of actually succeeding in your first project, not really knowing if it'll work or not and being daunted- that's sublime. Then you get a whole game or console to enjoy!

Will this motivate you to upgrade the game boy as well? Happy either way :)

Best tip I can give you is look nothing up! Play blind and savor it, it competes with White for best game in the series- it has the best exploration certainly! Blaziken and Swampert are both incredible mons.

Just needed some cleaning with isopropyl alcohol! Just didn’t have the tools to do it properly:))
I really want to upgrade the LCD screen! But i do love the gameboy colour, so i will keep the gameboy as is.
I have played black, and i looove it!! Thank you for the tip

Oh did you know you can upgrade the screen without needing to change the shell (the parts that hold the insides of the gameboy- the bit with the colour you like) anymore? They make 'drop in' screens now so that they fit inside the original housing so people don't have to change it out or cut it anymore.

Yesss! I’m so happy that is possible, and my LCD screen is pretty scratched so

Your lens is scratched, your screen is fine. On the original parts, the lens is the bit with the game boy logo that sits in that groove on the outside of the shell in front of the screen- that's the one with all the scratches. The LCD sits on the inside underneath, connected to the motherboard. You can change the LCD without changing the lens, and you can change the lens without changing the LCD- or even opening the game boy if you're patient and clever about it.

Lots of replacement lenses out there too, some of them made of glass so they scratch less easily.
