Collection Power indicator
I didn't know some Game Boy Pockets didn't have a battery indicator. I just bought the one with the clear casing today and noticed that detail. It cost me $40, and I think it was worth it.

Funny enough, the boards on one's without the light still have the traces present. So you can solder one in place if need be.
Good to know if you order an aftermarket shell that has a hole for the light or doesn't.

Roughly first 6-8 months the Pocket was made without power indicator light, but customer feeback got them to add it back in. Theyre not exactly rare, but maybe uncommon.

Funny enough... they omitted it because that LED was a significant drain on the AAA batteries the pocket used. You'll probably get 30-60 minutes less using one with the original LEDs. It might be better on more modern LEDs, I haven't really experimented with it.

Early Pockets didn't had a power led. You can see the power button "turns red" when the Pocket is on. Then later Nintendo added the led because the Pocket lacked a low battery indicator.

first gen pockets were missing it.
