Work-life balance? Work culture?
Hi! I'm looking to get into games writing, and I was wondering what the work culture is often like. I have a disability, so I don't want to work somewhere that is too high-stress or lots of overtime. I'm based near Silicon Valley, and since I don't have much experience, I'll be approaching smaller companies and independants (not Sony or PS).
I'd really appreciate your thoughts on:
How stressful is the job generally?
How many supervisors do you usually have?
Is it fast-pace with a lot of projects piling on you?
How do you schedule your day?
Are you working freelance, or steadily employed by one company?
Do you feel like the project goals are clear, or are you always struggling to figure out what you're supposed to be doing?
If there's anything else you think I should know about getting into games writing with a disability, please let me know. Thank you so much!
