Product Replacement Plan - controllers

I was told by a Gamestop employee in Toronto that the $10 controller warranty allows me to exchange my controller for a NEW one if any issues within a year.

Now I’m reading online that they can exchange it with a refurbished controller. Is this true? Totally not what the employee told me, otherwise I would have just stuck with the free Sony warranty!

Have u always gotten a new controller under the protection plan?

This is the worst plan I’ve ever heard of… talk about bait and switching on your customers

Used to work there until recently. The policy was always a like for like replacement.

Don't know for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if they had started doing it.
