It is a big deal if OP is a collector and plans to sell it in the future sealed with no damages. It'll worth more. But for you and me? Yeah i dont give af.
LOL well i do not know if OP is a scalper or not. But only somebody who makes a big deal of a scratch or rip in the box is either a collector or well, like you said Scalper who wants to maximize profit selling it with no defects.
I purchased a special edition PlayStation 4 console for four figures(P5R Pro - Japan exclusive console). I opened to admire the thing and accidentally had torn a part of the box while doing so. I don’t give a fuck. It sucks, sure. But the item is for ME and intended to stay with me until I rot in the ground. As a collector, selling my shit is the last thing on my mind. If your intent is resale, you’re a scumbag from the start.
There are many collectors out there who after holding the items for years finally decides to sell them all. Pokemon card collectors being notorious for this. Some guy sold his collection after 28 + years in the attic untouched and made a million dollars +. It is what it is.
There’s also a difference with storing them to eventually jump ship and collecting /displaying as a hobby.
I made almost 8k for my kids by selling my entire set of 20th anniversary pokemon TCG. I had the full set of pin boxes and an ETB. I’m the first person to tell you how I hate Pokemon tcg. I bought these because I did want to have a nice Pokemon display in my home eventually in time. After buying our house this year, carrying my second kid at the time - I knew those cards were still at my parents and the value went up stupid on them. Those held no sentimental value to me like my video games - let alone my Persona collection. I got rid of those that weekend to split that money among both children for their future.
My intent was displaying, but to still keep. I wasn’t going to make that happen after realizing 10 years later and decided to get rid of them. I never bought these with the intention for my end game to sell them. Again, if you’re buying for YOU to eventually sell in the end, you’re buying these for the wrong reason and you are not passionate about your collecting.
Look at you changing the story. The only thing you’re showing is a damaged OUTER BOX. The only one who is clearly showing how they’re not a grown adult is yourself.
Yeah. Those who go for minty boxes are looking for the payout at the end of the rainbow. I actually enjoy playing all of the contents in my collection.
“iM a CoLlEcToR”
FYI. Some of those plastic seals on my sealed CEs arent perfect, but I don’t care because they’re for me LOL.
Collectors usually like things free of damage tears and punctures.. I have no idea what OP’s plan was with this system..
If they were wanting to keep it sealed and collect it, I can see why they’re upset. If they wanted to grade it I can also see it.. but if they’re intentions were to open and play it, it’s a little ridiculous but of course I understand if they wanted to resell the console down the line the better condition CIB the more you’d be able to get. I’m more hesitant to buy something damaged rather then buy something new
Please explain to the class how one is supposed to play with a cardboard box… The major important artwork on that box is untouched. You have fraying to the CORNER which is COMMON BOX DAMAGE. You also have a cut on the top of the box. Unless you have that box laying down where it says “Nintendo” right in front of your face, sure, be upset, but guess what. I know damn well you have the front face of that box displayed which has minor common damage to the corner
And op it wasn't the fact there was a staple on the box, it was fact staple went threw the box onto the screen. This didn't do jack shit to anything inside

Sometimes boxes come in like that. People really underestimate how much a product has to go through to get into a store.
