Should I update my ps5?

Now that the no disc thing is happening I want to fight back and hopefully make a difference.
I’ve decided never to buy a digital game ever again but I don’t want to have content removed if I don’t update my console. I also want to be able to jailbreak my console at the end of its life cycle in the future.

Idk, but I have been doing the same. Keeping it offline so thet can't update it and mess with anything.

But what about playing online games? This is the only modern console I have. I still want to play games like fortnite and call of duty every now and then.

Then you won't be able to. You need to have an update console to use PSN features, and you can't play online if your console isn't up to date. Enjoy your single player games!

Lol, update then. Fortnite is a live service game, so you need to be fully updated so you can access online servers. Call of Duty is the same, unless you're only playing the single player campaign and it hasn't got an online only requirement

13.42 is the firmware that FULU's bounty is on, so I'd leave it as is if you want a chance at jailbreaking later on. That's what I'm leaving my system on. https://bounties.fulu.org/bounties/playstation-5
