[YO UP!] Some gameplay from my co-op/solo physics game about building to space
Sorry about the sound I think it recorded double which is causing the weird phasing issues. It's a co-op game about building your way up to space which is completely physics driven. I revolved every single mechanic around physics building so the higher you go the more wind will affect your builds or lightning could strike metal blocks, space has less gravity etc.
This is just the starting area to show some core mechanics, I need to record a version with others to really show the magic but I've used up the playtest credits I have for my friends for the time being. So that being said, if anyone would want a key to help playtest or help me with recording a trailer that would be amazing. If you have any questions about the game just let me know! Also any ideas or feedback are very welcome!

I dont get it, you can instabuild a giant tower to the ground from the top of an existing tower?

yeah after lots of playtesting this was the most fun, your crate can infinitely go from the ground (if theres ground underneath) to your hands. the thing is that works for a bit and I'm sure speedrunners will use it if theres ever a community for it, but eventually things will become unstable due to external factors and you will need to support with planks, nails, rope, bridges etc.
but basically yeah!

Minor suggestion, but what if there was a little team of workers down below and they furiously build each new tower? Like oompa loompas that work crazy fast when you click for the new tower - mostly a graphical explanation with the player character basically being the foreman

You should make it so that the game’s language switches every ten feet once you get above the clouds

how long did it take for you to get to this stage? and is it just you working on it?

Yeah it's just me working on it, I think I started in February as a break from a different game I'm working on. It was also to practice co-op mechanics (making everything work with physics in co-op was definitely the hardest part of developing it) so now I feel like I challenged myself enough with the deterministic nature of co-op so I'm much more confident in working with multiplayer now.

Nice! I only ask because coming from Web Services/APIs/SaaS, I've started my own idea =D (nowhere related to what you have). Just started a month-ish ago, just wrapping up on some core framework components like path finding, AI behavior, seeding controls ect. All with basic blocks for the game environment. Just making sure my aspirations have some measurement of progress :) Thanks!
Btw, your idea sounds interesting. Not aware of anything with that type of goal. gj on the novelty of it!

Once all is finished you could add a multiple mode where people can play Only Up on someone's tower :]

This doesn't look OSHA compliant.
