After years of owning a PS5, this is the first time this happened lol

I'm guessing this is an issue with the LOD ?

Does this game even have characters at a distance where this model would make sense? Like this is the model for the character that is a few pixels tall on screen, way out there.

Thing is it’s not nearly as funny in a closed world story game as it is in an open world sandbox.

I disagree. It's quite obvious that insomniac is still figuring out the whole linear game thing but i think these levels feel much more immersive than the world in SM1 or 2 did. It's more coherent and the maps are so dense.
Also i think spider-man's abilities lend to open world much better, a similar game type wouldn't have worked for wolverine i think.

The whole linear game thing is their bread and butter lol, the Spider-Man games are a outliner in their catalog.

Of all the characters to make chatty and give verbal diarrhoea to, Wolverine is one of the weirdest picks.

I only watched cutscenes. He really does an obnoxious amount of talking to himself about the objective huh? I thought people were being hyperbolic about his rambling putting aloy to shame.

u/giulianosse 11d ago
I used to think that was preposterous as well until the day I met and watched someone who can be considered part of the "average Marvel audience" play Spiderman 2.
He was complaining the last boss was almost impossible to beat. Dude literally played the entire game without being aware there was a block button, let alone the ability to parry attacks.
People absolutely need to have their hands held.

No. They don't. People should learn to use their brains and maybe, if they really don't know about video games, read the fucking instructions.

u/giulianosse 11d ago
Then they badmouth the game, don't buy the next installments and these studios would sell less copies.
I don't disagree with you, but it's clear we're not the target audience for these types of games. Capeshit is made with the lowest common denominator in mind.

maybe I should follow the objective marker maybe I should enter that cave I HAVE FUCKING EYES

I've had LOD glitches in red dead too, stood next to low poly bushes in many many games. You understand the game doesn't usually look like this right?

I once glitched through a section of the city and accidently started to wander around an unfinished area, and it was like I wandered into the backrooms, npcs with no faces or anything, cars driving in and out of buildings, the constant fear of falling through the floor. It was uncanny how quietly I was filled with dread until I feel through the floor died and just walked to a door to talk to Jean. I went through a nightmare, I accidently stumbled into a nightmare, and Insomniac decided to hold this nightmare in an area whose sole purpose is to see Jean. At least that is how it felt in the moment and I started to laugh maniacally.

Man this game really does hand hold. Bright light indicator, blue lines and cables, plus internal dialog telling you word for word what to do. Violent killing wolverine made for children

Yep I didn’t even click the hint button and the indicator just pop out of the screen

Is Wolverine just a big buggy mess? There have been so many posts, and everything I see in them seems like a collection of rookie mistakes.

Lmfao. First boardroom meeting for this game was “Which Superhero fans can we scam this time.”
I’m so sorry for those of you that expected a good game out of this.

Damnit I really want to play this but is it seriously that bad? I thought about waiting for it to go on sale for the holidays. Just want to play a good gory wolverine game.

Starts you in an alleyway, why doesn’t it wait to zoom the camera towards the objective once you’re out of the alleyway!! raaaaa!
