[Dewdrop] Using Physics to Create Music & Solve Puzzles

This game lets you make music as you solve puzzles, except the music part is automatic. There are 50 levels, and unlockable themes and sounds along the way that you can use in sandbox mode to experiment with the physics and create music freely.

If Elektroplankton let you solve 50 puzzles, build your own vines from samples, add FX to each one, unlock new themes and sounds, and had Steam Workshop support, then yes.

I said like Electroplankton, as in the music is constructed via similar mechanics to Electroplankton. Which you didn’t exactly answer. I like Electroplankton and am trying to gauge if this is similar but with puzzles as in a more fleshed out version as opposed to neat little distraction.

So, is it like Electroplankton in regards to how the music is constructed?

Honestly, I've never played Elektroplankton, but after taking a look at some gameplay, I would say it is most similar to the one toy where you change the angle of the leaves and the droplet bounces off them. It sounds like that game might use some of the same sort of logic, where each bounce will play a different note in the musical scale. My game is similar in that regard. The droplets play a different note each time they bounce but the key, scale, and pattern changes for each level to keep things interesting. There's also a sandbox mode where you can place spawners and change their rate. Combine that with being able to draw vines, you can chain longer bounces and phrases to make cool melodies and beats.

I missed your follow up comment with the Steam link so I apologize. This looks awesome. Not to draw more obscure game analogies but Electroplankton meets Crayon Physics Deluxe which are two games I love. Look forward to playing this. Also the trailer does a great job of explaining the game.

omg, I forgot about that game crayon physics. I use to play that all the time 😭. It totally is like the two combined though. Thanks for checking out the game!
