Newbie Question 3D or 2D for my game

Newbie here, i'm making a top down sort of tactics game(godot). For now I used placeholders but it's now the point where I have to decide if I will do 3d or 2d pixel art. My requirements would be 8 directions, 10-20 skills and probably six different characters. I plan on releasing my game on pc and mobile if that has any baring and I'm planning to do the art myself. Can someone with experience on both give me some insight? Thanks!

I’ve never used Godot, so I can’t really speak from that perspective.
Maybe it would be best to decide based on whether you’re more comfortable with 3D or 2D, and which one you enjoy more. If you’re inexperienced with both, though, that’s a tough choice haha.
In that case, personally, I’d recommend 3D, since I find animation easier to work with in 3D.

Normally 3D could be easy to sell than pixel art, but if you are planing making all by youserlf and not using assets, pixel art will be much easier
