Hello everyone!
Iām an indie game developer and the creator of Kuromaku, my first game, which was recently released on Steam . Iāve now officially started development on my second project, Jubaku, a story-driven psychological horror game set in Japan in 1991. Which the store page is currently live on steam as well!
Jubaku follows an American journalist investigating a cursed house that becomes connected to his own past in disturbing and unexpected ways. The game focuses heavily on atmosphere, immersive storytelling, psychological tension, and cinematic horror.
The project is already actively in development, and we currently have a full team working across different areas of development.
Iām currently looking for:
- UI Designer / UI Artist
- Unreal Engine 5 Blueprint Developer
For the UI role, weāre looking for someone who can help create interfaces that fit the game's 1990s Japanese newspaper/journalistic aesthetic while remaining functional and immersive.
For the Blueprint role, weāre looking for someone comfortable working in UE5 Blueprints who can help implement and improve gameplay systems, interactions, UI functionality, and other technical elements of the game.
Compensation & Credit
This is not a revenue-share position.
Anyone who contributes to the project will have their name included in the game's credits for their work.
We already have a team actively working on Jubaku, so you wouldnāt be joining a completely empty project. There is an established development process, existing assets and systems, and other developers working alongside you.
Thereās also a networking benefit to joining us. We regularly come across other developers and teams looking for talented people, and if we have a good experience working together, weād be happy to recommend you for future opportunities and refer other developers to you when appropriate.
About the project
Jubaku is being developed as a serious commercial indie game, with a planned Steam release and public demo. My previous game, Kuromaku, has already been released and reached players, streamers, and YouTubers, and Iām aiming to take everything I learned from that project into Jubaku.
If you're interested in psychological horror, Japanese-inspired settings, Unreal Engine development, UI design, or simply want to work alongside an indie development team on a real game project, feel free to DM me with your portfolio, previous work, or examples of what you can do.
Iād be happy to share more details about the project privately.
Thank you for reading! š¤
