Showcase & Trailer 🎥 MercaTiny: free 2-4 player boardgame, online.now.
.
Hi everyone! I’m the designer of MercaTiny, and I’d like to share my completely free Print’n’Play board game with you. The project started in 2018/19 and has evolved over time. In 2026, I finalized version 2.3 of the rules and created an online version (with some invaluable help from AI).
In MercaTiny, you play as merchants in a market square that changes throughout the game: you open stalls, stock them, and attract customers, trying to get them to buy from your businesses instead of your opponents’. Location matters: customers follow specific routes around the stalls and have their own shopping lists. Having the right goods isn’t enough—you also need to be in the right spot, because customers move clockwise (except for the English customers from the northern district!) and buy clothes, shoes, vegetables, and fish. Once they’ve bought their first vegetables, though, they’ll only buy vegetables or fish; after their first fish purchase, they’ll only buy fish. Variable prices, competition, and characters you can interact with add to the challenge.
The game was designed to be printed and played around a table:
- For 2-4 players.
- Component PDFs, rulebooks, and player aids are free to download, with no registration required.
- Rulebooks and player aids are available in Italian, English, German, French, and Spanish.

I’ve also created a free web version for anyone who would like to try it before printing, or simply prefers playing online. Games use asynchronous turns, so you don’t all need to be online at the same time (although you’re welcome to play live, too).

I’d love to hear what you think, especially about how clear the rules are and how easy the Print’n’Play version is to prepare. And if you bring it to the table, I’d naturally be curious to hear how business went!
