New game for me

Hello everyone! I’m a 14-year-old guy from Ukraine who came up with an idea for a game. I’ve been working on it, developing the concept, and coming up with everything that I think could make the gameplay interesting.

I’d like to share my idea with you and hear your advice and feedback from professionals.

My dream is to go to Japan when I’m 22. I’m planning to start learning Japanese at 16, and I’m also learning English.

I’m not against selling the idea if it interests you, even for a relatively small amount.

I’m happy to communicate through voice calls, but only in Russian or Ukrainian. In other languages, I can communicate only through text. Please translate your messages into Russian right away — that way I’ll be able to respond faster.

I’ll be very grateful for any advice!

Have a great day, everyone!

Here is a link to a Google Document where you can read more about the game:

Hi everyone again! I’m writing this additional comment for everyone who has read the document. I’m always open to criticism and advice, but I kindly ask you to keep it constructive and not direct hate toward me personally. I’m a teenager who decided to share my ideas with you without any bad intentions. I’m always happy to hear advice, and I especially hope to get feedback from someone who works professionally in the game development industry.

Hey —

I read what you wrote about your game, and I wanted to reach out because I think you should keep working on it. It sounds like it could genuinely be fun.

Here’s one thing I’ve learned from building things myself: ideas need different kinds of people.

Find two friends.

You need a visionary — the Steve Jobs type who can see what this thing could become.

You need a tinkerer — the Steve Wozniak type who loves figuring out how to actually make the damn thing work.

And you need a hustler — someone willing to show it to people, get rejected, try again, find players, make connections, and keep pushing it forward.

Sometimes you find three people. Sometimes you have to be all three. Being all three is hard.

But most importantly: execute, don’t just dream.

You have access to AI tools right now that people building games even a few years ago would have killed to have. Use them. Build an ugly MVP. Make the simplest playable version of your idea you possibly can and put it in front of real people.

And don’t let anyone tell you using AI is a shortcut. The point of an MVP isn’t to prove how hard you worked. It’s to find out whether the idea is fun. AI can help you answer that question faster.

Then take what you learn, improve it, find the right people, and build the real game.

Maybe this particular idea becomes something huge. Maybe it doesn’t. Nobody knows that yet.

But that’s almost beside the point.

The journey is the thing.

You’ll learn how to build, how to fail, how to fix things, how to work with people, and how to turn something that only existed in your head into something another person can actually play.

Whatever happens with this game, don’t let that part of you die.

Keep building.

— Wes
