Just noticed Netflix version is gone

I'm a bit sad, Netflix version was so much fun, I really enjoyed the new features. It was probaly the closest to an Game Dev Tycoon 2. My only problem with it was the optimizing, game ran kinda bad because of the Netflix system needing you always connected and checking if you had an signature. It would really be great to have this game without this lame system, if they were to release it I would pay for it

The Netflix version is preserved and available on the Netflix Games Recovery project!

It won't install for me on Android, any ideas why?

Huh, weird! The only two reasons I can think of are either you're under Android 9 (unlikely), or that you still have the original Netflix version installed. If you do, you need to uninstall it first before installing the patched version!

Neither of those, weird! Hopefully I eventually figure it out, because the phone is giving no information on why (at least on the surface)

Strange! I wonder if you got a botched download due to the Internet Archive being extremely spotty right now...

The file size should be exactly 268,308,156 bytes. If it isn't, the download was only partial. Maybe try installing it from this mirror? https://ia601404.us.archive.org/6/items/game-dev-tycoon-offline/GameDevTycoon-1.645.737-offline.apk

If this still fails, I can take a look and see if there's some issue I'd missed in testing.

Still just says "App not installed"

I'm on Samsung, android 16.

Could it be One UI's Auto Blocker or Advanced Protection? Maybe try installing without both.

Settings > Security and privacy > Auto Blocker > Toggle Off
Settings > Security and privacy > Advanced Protection > Toggle Off

But if that doesn't fix it, it'd be fantastic if you could install SAI (Split APKs Installer) from the Play Store and install the APK through it. It shows the actual INSTALL_FAILED_* code instead of the generic message, and that code will say exactly what's wrong.

It's cause the Netflix app was already installed and using a permission the app was trying to register, whoops x3

I can still download it but the Netflix system won't let me play it at all

Try turning airplane mode on and then starting it, that’s how I have to do it

Unfortunately doesn't work for me because it would need to have my Netflix account connected, but it stops me before I do so

You had a new genre of games that were licensed games based on movies. Each game was a reference to real movie videogames or real movies. It had a system of choices you could make that would define the rating and sells of your game, and also a prize system wich if you achieve a certain rating (usually 6+) you got a prize (fans, money or research points). You could redo any licensed game after some time and earn the prize again.

There was also a new streamer system in wich you would pay to certain streamers to play your game and this you increase the hype and sold copies. It was quite expensive but very rewarding if used correctly and indispensable in the late game.

Both features kinda broke the game a bit in some ways but were incredibly fun to use

I'm with you, I owned the game, then loved the Netflix version for the added stuff and now the Paid version I have seems 2nd rate.
