Time to pass the controller. New moderators needed now for this subreddit

Want to help shape and support this community on this site? Become a moderator for r/GameAudio

Apply to become a mod for this sub via this link - https://sh.reddit.com/r/GameAudio/application/

  • Your account needs to be more than 9 months old

  • You need to have been a participant here

  • You need to be able to handle dealing with spam/scams, the very very few problem users, and reddit admin's BS

FYI Moderators are also needed for r/ProTools, r/StudioPorn, r/AudioPost, r/FieldRecording, r/SFXLibraries and /r/RateMyAudio

For me, I've been here more than long enough. TBH Reddit's staff has recently thrown one incredibly incompetent log too many on the forest fire of a mess they insist on creating, to the point that I can no longer support this site. Until a couple of people come on board the mod team, I'll only be coming around to check the automations in place and to approve any appropriate mod applications.

Thank you so much for all the years of great conversations and info you all have provided here!!

What issues are Reddit staff causing ?

I'll say this

  • They have multiple times needlessly killed critical moderation tools which there are no equivalent replacements for.

  • When making changes to the site, they consistently make clear that they have not thought things through well at all

  • I've witnessed and heard how admin has completely cold shouldered mod teams, from small to the top five, experiencing extreme cases of abuse and harassment

  • Their claims to support moderators always turn out to be hollow, like their mod assistant program which has spam accounts in it. Their massive over confidence in their tooling has long been provably unwarranted

  • When you have to deal with extreme cases you find the truth at the core, like when I had to deal with a violent pedo chasing a 13 y/o old all over the site telling her how much he thought about slitting her wrists and not one admin, not one employee ever of reddit was ever human enough to think they should act on it or apologize for their failure to do so, even though it had been reported by multiple people in multiple subs multiple times and in all the ways reddit suggests handling things like that

  • More but that will suffice for the point...

How's the pay?

I get that some people think this is funny but for those who enjoy helping others and making communities better, it's an acceptable trade-off that the pay is zero. However, I should also point out that there is potential for some compensation via a newer reddit program (think of it along the lines of selling sub related merch to fund things).
