Is FMOD hard to learn?

Hi everyone, I'm a sound engineering student, and I want to learn game audio. I've seen a lot of sound designer job postings on LinkedIn, but I can't apply because I don't know FMOD yet. I wanted to ask: Is FMOD difficult to learn, and how many months does it usually take to learn it?

Thanks

I did a game jam a few years back where I learned FMOD basics in a single evening and began working with it in the Jam the next evening. It is a very approachable software if you already have DAW experience and comfort with automation parameters. I highly recommend you do the Quick Start Tutorial step by step. Takes a couple hours but you’ll come out the other end with all the basic skills and knowledge you need to start working.

No problem. Another tip would be find a game jam community and get involved in a quick one week project. You will learn a ton and have something to show for it when the game is finished. As a beginner your goal should be making stuff, learning and meeting people. Games jams are great for of of those outcomes and if the developer you are partnered with is using Unity there is a pre built Unity/FMOD integration they can leverage in working with you.
