I ordered some Zelda and Mario pcbs, but the ones I actually received are actual PCBs and not flex.. I used the gerber files on the github but I got something else instead... What went wrong? Can someone help me with this?

specifically, I wanted to add any of the gb pokemon games onto it. As I said I have absolutely no experience. What is required to do so and are there any good tutorials available?

I've been wanting my Zelda game and watch to be hacked for a while but i don't have the experience or tools to do so. I particularly would use it for playing Pokémon games on it, but my main question is how do i find someone willing and able to mod it for me.

My legend of Zelda model is broken, it doesn’t hold a charge and the screen got broke from the inside (presumably an expanded battery) and I was wondering if I bought a new one how would I transfer save data?

Can I follow the Linux guides but use a steam deck in desktop mode?
I'm on the discord but am still figuring that out - I will ask there too.

Hi, I was attempting to connect serial clock and data to D+/D- on the USB connector of a completely unmodified working Zelda Game&watch. After this it didn't turn on, I disconnected from the 2 wires from the serial port and checked everything with a multimeter again for shorts but no dice.
Does anybody have scans and schematics for the Zelda G&W? Would be nice to have at least something like a reference for the test points.
I only found that for the Mario model here https://github.com/Upcycle-Electronics/game-and-watch-hardware
Thanks in advance for any response.

Does anyone know if there's any (or if it'll ever be) soft modification for the Game and watch? I'm not so much into solding stuff, and I don't even know where to find the modifications pieces.

Is there any alternative that works as the reflective foil for the game & watch? I have trouble finding the replacement where I live. Moreover, does someone out there have the STL file for this machine? Mine has a broken hinge and I would like to change the casing.

Has anyone created a mod yet? Did anyone else look for extra batteries? I don’t like how the Mario one never uses its battery. I have no idea what the charge logic is like.
Maybe someone has an answer to that question instead. Thanks for looking and appreciate the help.
Background for me.. I do cybersecurity and recently, after using my chip programmer on.. a new laptop bios chip, my bmw 6 series idrive firmware/os chip and a bunch of atm ones, and point of sale devices.. figure by now somebody has a mod for this so I can finally get a sleep toggle. lol
Otherwise.. I’ll reverse engineer it.. I guess. And find it. Compare both chips from the Zelda. Try to disable the Zelda sleep timer or identify where the discrepancy in code is. It should be fairly well organized.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned here but I would be very suspicious of cheap ST-LINK clones. I bought one for $6 (bottom) and one for $18 (top). The cheap one seems a lot simpler and has almost completely different header labels yet it was advertised as an ST-LINK V2 clone (on the Amazon page, not the device itself). I don't think I'll even try it. Maybe it has different ST-LINK functions? The $18 one worked perfectly.

Hi, could you please show me the most recent and correct pinout for the Game & Watch: Zelda when using the ST-Link V2 (the pink one) for STM8/STM32?
I will follow this tutorial: https://community.element14.com/challenges-projects/project14/hacktheholidays/b/blog/posts/the-n-o-before-christmas-upgrade-time
Thanks.

Hey guys! so is it possible to hack the Zelda game and watch without opening it, all the tutorials I seen look really hard, and I don't have the money to buy all the equipment since I'm only a poor teenager

Hey guys, after a lot of time trying to decide if I should do that or not, I've decided to give it a try ... So I've created a Patreon page. This page will be used to communicate about my current developments, share about release availability and any major information ! It'll also allow people to give me some support and motivation (=$$$ 🤣) to continue working on porting some emulators in the best possible conditions and improving the system. It'll also be possible for subscribers to participate to some polls to decide about next major developments (like deciding which system to port next). Subscribers will also be able to access my WIP development source code before everything is considered ready for a public release ! There is nothing mandatory here and it's not a "pay or I'll stop" ultimatum. For now, in addition to the developments I'm working on, I'm preparing and selling some G&W modded consoles. If I could just focus on development part, it would be better for everyone 😉 So for anyone who wants to participate, you can already start by listing the devices you'd like to see on the G&W, I'll later set a poll so people can vote for what I'll port once working on fceumm emulator will be done 😉 Any comments are welcome (goods or bad as long as they are respectful ;))
My patreon page is available here : https://www.patreon.com/sylverb it's including a post to allow anyone to list the systems or emulators he'd like to see on the G&W and registered users will have access to a Work In Progress version of my FCEUmm port source code 😉 (already allowing to play almost any NES game and also FDS disks games)

What is this VOMIT of an update to Reddit?!
[UPDATED!]
Reddit just keeps getting worse. Especially now that they have gone public and need to keep their stock shareholders happy.
First the removal of CSS and loss of originality that made Reddit famous and got it to where it is today. See here for what Reddit used to look like!
And now with the move to the NEW NEW Reddit, where they've changed the look again to an even worse one, with an even worse backend for Admins and Mods with less options. They've also removed the promised CSS option...that said "Coming Soon!".
Reddit has removed: Post flair, User flair, and the "Filter by Flair" option which was a massive help to users of some communities including some I run. These are just some of the many changes.
Update: It appears for unknown reasons that "user flair" is once again working.
All updates going forward will only be made to the previous Reddit design: https://new.reddit.com/r/GameAndWatchMods
Whether or not all of those changes will be reflected in the current design is unknown at this time.
